I was seated in an office on the fourth floor that had a beautiful view of the landscape below. The entire wall to the outside was made of glass. After a few minutes, the lady I was waiting on came in and sat behind her desk. As l was complimenting her about the view, I saw a tree outside her window move. Not just a little but a lot. I thought it was going to fall on the building. I asked her, “Did you see that tree move?”
She was not surprised at all. “Yes, pine trees bend just like palm trees. They do it all the time. They have shallow roots. It is not that noticeable on the ground. But when you are seated high up you can see. Looks like it is going to fall over doesn’t it?” she asked.
Interesting, I thought. I guess it all depends on where you are seated determines the view you see and the things you notice.
I just came from the ground level where that same tree was and did not even notice it moving. Nor could I tell how beautiful the whole area around it really was. On the ground level, all I could see was what was right in front of my eyes.
However, when I went to a higher level, I could see what was really going on down there.
In Ephesians 2:4-6 says:
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Daily, we have to remember that we are raised up with Christ. That He wants us to sit together with Him in heavenly places. Not to see our lives and what is going on around us from an earthly view but from a raised up view from heaven. It will make a world of difference if we do.
What are you waiting on? Come on up here the view is great!
